A man was arrested in connecting with allegedly setting a woman on fire after pouring alcohol on Sunday morning when a verbal dispute turned violent. The man, Kyle B Holtrust 27 was arrested by the Jasper Police Department. He lives on W Sixth St. He was charged with 7 misdemeanor and felony charges. On the way to the incident spot, officers noticed a man walking on the street shirtless. The man had blood stains on the hands and face. Holtrust walked off from the place of the incident after trying to set the woman on fire. The police immediately detained the man and later found him to be Holtrust.
The officers contacted the victim, who was punched in the face and was pulled by her hair after yelling obscenities at the woman. The police were informed that Holtrust poured alcohol from a bottle on the women and attempted to set her ablaze. He was also saying he would kill her. Holtrust was noticed to be well out of control even at the emergency medical unit when he was seen making threatening statements at the medical personnel who were there to treat him.
Meanwhile, Holtrust was booked by Dubois County Security Center on some charges. These include Level 3 felony of aggravated battery, intimidation count – Level 5 felony, intimidation of medical employees – Level 6 felony and also on counts of disorderly conduct, domestic battery, criminal recklessness and protesting law enforcement. In total Holtrust was charged seven charges. The incident occurred on West Sixth Street, 300 blocks.
